I'm in love

During Max's Wednesday night ride, I decided to do the trail by foot. Run as far as I can out in 45 min and come back. Within 20 minutes, I was hooked. I've never ran a trail before; always stuck with the road. I've always been scared with my bad knee and ankles. The run couldn't have been more perfect. Sun was out, no wind, good tunes, nice scenery, tasty Cliff Shot Bloks.

I only stopped to take some pics. I tried to take some of Max passing me, but he's too fast. But he was nice enough to stop and give me a kiss before he left me in his dust.

At my 45 minute mark, I took some more pics and gobbled on some more Bloks. Right when I was going to head back, I get a phone call from Brian...a 10 minute phone call. By now, I am freaking out. If I didn't get back to the truck by dark, I'm sure Max would send out a rescue party. I've gone off hiking before and scared the hell out of Max, I was NOT going to do this again. So, I turned on my tunes and headed back to the truck, running much faster than before. The only thing in my head was, "I gotta beat Max, I gotta beat Max."

I beat Max. I also beat my time to be back at the truck. Got back in 25 minutes. I felt so good, I was wanting more miles. Fifteen minutes later my knee changed my mind. So I did a bit of yoga while Max and company had a couple of Wednesday night beers. Thanks to Jeff, I had wine waiting for me at home.
