Spent the weekend in Sedona. I have been looking forward to this weekend for awhile. But the whole way up, all I could think about was that I going to miss the Saturday girls ride. We had lots to do though. Saturday was Bike n Bean's Bike Bash. Sunday was Sedona's Big Freakin' Loop. And somewhere in between, Max and I were going to spend some quality time together. We arrived late Friday; made a fire and had some beer. A fun time.
Saturday we went to the Bike Bash. It was fun and I, eh, I mean Max won stuff from the raffle. Sprocket had the most fun; so many dogs to sniff. After some food and entertainment, Max and I headed back to camp. I was exhausted, and I took a nap with Sprocket. Max decided to go for short ride. When he came back, I took Sprocket for an even smaller ride. We hung out at camp for the rest of the night, mostly preparing for Max's ride on Sunday.
Sunday was the big day. Max made a delicous breakfast, then we headed to meet Chad and Dave. After watching the start of the race, I headed back to camp to pack up. What I thought would only take me an hour, took me 4 hours. My plans for Sprocket and hiking were ruined. I finished just in time to go to the finish of the race...just in case. When I arrived, I noticed Max lying on the floor, injured. He had a bad crash, followed by smaller crashes. He decided to stop racing and save himself for next week's race.
The drive home was fast. Sprocket slept in the back seat the whole way home. Max and I were silly with each other. The weekend went by fast, but it was still a good weekend.
