Thursday was uneventful, except for the traffic ticket Max got on the way to Prescott. As soon as we got to the hotel, I started my filing and drawing that went into Friday morning. We managed to take a small break in between my work to have some dinner at The Gurley Street Grill.
For breakfast, we stopped at a small cafe on Gurley Street...good stuff but can't remember the name. By noon, we headed to Whiskey Row to set up for packet pickup. While I set up my area, Michaela entertained Sprocket, and Max went for a 25 mile ride.

Packet Pickup/Registration went on till 9pm. It was lots of fun hanging out with Mary and Brooke again. They are such great people. I also got to see a lot of familiar faces from work and other Epic races. Max helped me out for a few hours, and poor Michaela was still entertaining Sprocket. For dinner, we ate at a Pub/Restaurant on Gurley Street...again. I think the food on Gurley Street taste better than any other street. We ended up getting back to the hotel at a decent hour, and I managed to get eight hours of sleep.

The day started early, 7am. Max helped Patrick and Jay put up the starting line. I continued where I left off from the night before, packet pickup. Amazing how many people wait till the last minute. The start of races are always exciting and really get your adrenaline going. I managed to get some great video off all three starts.

While I worked all day, Max took the DV camera and got some footage for me to edit...coming soon. My day lacked of lunch and dinner; but I managed to have snacks here and there, thanks to some good friends. The day came to an end at the awards ceremony, and then the evening had begun. I had some drinks with Mary at Coyote Joe's, went back to the hotel to get warmer clothes, then headed out to The Raven for more drinks with Patrick, Todd, and Jay.
I woke up Sunday morning feeling as if I had raced the 50 proof. My back and legs were sore, and I was hung over...a little. I was dehydrated and starving, and I couldn't wait to get home. We packed up our stuff and finally headed back to Tucson.
